Get Inspired

"The true miracle is not walking on water or walking in air, but simply walking on this earth."

I'm getting up at 4 AM to put some miles on the treadmill.  Watch this video and you will too.  It was my daughter Emma who inspired me to take control of my health. She is the one who made me realize that I can run a Marathon.  She has worked so hard and gone from using a walker, to using crutches, to taking independent steps.  It was her comment this morning that made me hop on the treadmill this morning.  She said, "I want to practice walking on my own. I want to take 4 steps."  Tonight she took 3!  She set a goal, went for it, and showing she will reach it!

You have set a goal as well.  Some of you weren't sure about taking part in Tough Mudder.  I say thank you for joining the FUN.  You will feel GOOD and not so CLEAN when you cross the finish line 2.  The famous David Chambers once said, "We got this!"---

We need to get out for a group run soon!  Any mileage is good mileage.  After tonight, I feel like running 100 :)!!!

Today it changes

Lately, I have struggled to find the time or lack the organization to schedule time to run.  Today is the day it will change.  After watching Lone Survivor last night, I have a revived appetite to go the distance.  I will set my goals today and I WILL meet them.  I am looking forward to the Tough Mudder on May 17th. A great time with friends and an awesome way to honor the fighting spirit of our Wounded Warriors.

So we have 117 days to get ourselves in fighting shape.  We will terrorize the course at Lahm Regional Airport this May! HOOYAH!

So what do you say Good Clean Fun?!?  Do you have the honor, courage and commitment in order to get the job done?  Of course you do!

I would like to welcome my cousin Jeff to the team.  I will see you out on the trails!

Highbanks this AM

Bob, Joe, and I went for a brisk run this morning. The cold air was intimidating, but with the right gear it was just another day at the park.
Once I pulled into the park, I knew it was a good idea. The snow covered hills and the intense cold provided the physical/mental challenge that we needed.  Afterall, the Arctic Enema at the Tough Mudder is more intense than this mornings air temps.
We fit in a solid 8 miles and the end of the run was gorgeous.  The hills are great and Highbanks is a very scenic place to visit.  We weren't able to spot the Bald Eagle that lives by the river, but maybe during our next visit. The sun warmed things up and it was nice to see as we returned to our cars.  It was a great start to the year and we hope to see more of you during the group runs. Bring a friend!  Bob and Joe know of Dunkin Donuts near by too. :)

It was nice to get a run in before the extreme cold temps visit us for a few days. Winter Storm Ion looks to be a feisty one.

HOORAH!

Time To Train

Ok. The holiday is over and it's time to start the training.  I will be running a few times a week and doing P90X like in years past.  The functional movements will be very helpful when running Tough Mudder-Mansfield this May.   Team Good Clean Fun 2 will be ready to go!  So let's get out there and start getting dirty!
